Computer Electronic Engineering or Information Systems?
I am currently attending ECPI- College of Technology. I started in the Bachelor of Science in Computer Electronic Engineering Technology program. After getting started, I feel that this program is more geared towards the actual design and development of electronic equipment. I am wanting a career where I build and fix computer systems, build networks, diagnose hardware and software problems, build websites, etc. ECPI offers a Bachelor of Science in Information Systems. Is this program geared more towards what I am wanting to do? ECPI also allows me to study for and obtain my industry certifications as part of my program. (Serious answers only)

- I believe you are in the right program - Computer engineering. I think the reason why they want you to learn about development and design is because the industry is in constant flux. Components and technology is constantly upgrading. Once you understand the component designs, then you can move up to building and diagnosing hardware problems.
- There is a real shortage of hardware `people. Softwar and networking people are a dime a dozen. Learning the hardware will keep you employed for life. But I have to admit you have to really love it the way I do or you won't do well at it.
