Can one turn a PC into a Electronics Engineering Lab?
Can one turn a PC into a Electronics Engineering Lab? Having software simulators for 8085-86 Microprocessors and 8051 Micro controller? Software packages for Linear Circuit Design using various analog Integrated Circuits? Digital and Analog Communication Lab, Digital Signal processing Lab and MatLab. Please suggest softwares for the above experiments.

- Sure. Considering the power of today's PC's, you can certainly do that ... for more money than the cost of the PC. As for the processor simulators - exactly what do you want to do - compile or actually step through the programs watching the registers and output bits. To compile, you can probably get them for free from the makers of the chips or microcontrollers using them. The other may be more difficult.
- This is a SPICE-like simulator, for analog or digital circuits: http://www.linear.com/designtools/software/ltspice.jsp Xilinx - VHDL simulator, for digital simulation http://www.xilinx.com/support/download/index.htm You can have Matlab clones, for numerical calculus and work with matrices (Freemat, Octave, Scilab...) http://www.matrixlab-examples.com/academic-software.html
