Sega Megadrive/Genesis - What is the difference Between (BIG Cartridges) and Small Cartridges? also...?

the one im getting on ebay is a pal red lighted red controller button with the high defination graphics logo at the back near the circle bit,,,Why are there Big cartridges and Small cartridges for the Sega megadrive/Genesis i'm getting a (PAL) Sega Megadrive but i've got a big cartridge here with a little yellow bit in the corner, it has on the back: CAUTION! _________________________ DON'T expose to extreme tempture! 1. the size of the cartrige only allows more air, to cool it off more efficiently, the megadrive is the japanese version, and genesis in the na version. the games are not compatible.
2. There is no way to tell by the size, only by the label. Different size indicates larger capacity cart. More storage memory is needed for some games. Note: The games are interchangable without an adapter. They will play in different regions. The video format is created on the console, not in the cart.
