whats the best way to learn electronics?

i have asked about those electronics labs on the net that have projects that help teach about electronics but i havent gotten alot of str8 answers on if they would be perfect or not. mostly ive gotten "give them a try" or "good starting point" but nothing saying they teach really well. so i was wondering what is a great starting point that every person that wants to learn electronics (parts, boards, circuits, etc)? i want a solid foundation so i can do some electronic projects off some websites. any help would be great. thanks

2. Best way to start is to get a job at Radio Shack. Idea being to begin with a hands-on experience, rather than in a boring book.
