How to calibrate a Fluke DMM?

I have owned a Fluke handheld DMM for several years now, and have never had it calibrated. Is this something I can do myself? What kind of equipment/standards are required? Or do I need to send the meter to some lab to get calibrated? I just use this for hobby electronics, so it isn't too important that the DMM be super accurate. I was just wondering what was involved with calibrating one of these.

1. Best way is to send it in as the test equipment is expensive. Whoever sold it to you should be able to help find somewhere to calibrate it. RS Components do it if in the UK
2. What makes you think it needs calibration? If you are just using it for hobby work, then I would just test it on some common stuff like a fresh alkaline battery of 1.5 volts or your AC outlet of whatever you have locally. If you haven't mistreated it, I would not feel a need for a laboratory calibration. Didn't drop on concrete from a height or plug a jillion volts in while on the ohms scale? Fluke makes good stuff. Save your bucks. Its most likely within the tolerances you need.
3. To calibrate it, you would need a calibrator such as the Fluke 5520A that would cost you between 20 and 30 thousand. If your just using it for hobby, what do you care if you get 5.000V or 5.011V? If you really need it calibrated email me, I work for a calibration house. But from what you have said, I don't think you should waste your hard earned money unless you are getting crazy readings.
