What should I major in if I want to go into electronic engineering/design?
I am currently in my freshman year majoring in electrical engineering, my school does not offer electronic engineering. I am unsure wether I should be in electrical engineering or computer engineering.

- If you are unsure of which major to choose, I would go with the more broad major, which in this case seems to be electrical engineering. You can always specialize more later, such as by focusing more on design. Computer engineering is usually a more specific major and might give you less flexibility later on. On the other hand, if the courses in computer engineering are more interesting to you, just go with that major. As long as you have a degree in some type of engineering, many employers and graduate school programs are flexible as to which type.
- For ABET accredited schools, the CE is the same courses as EE but an EE gets 3 technical electives while the CE has those 3 courses picked for them. ECE (electrical and computer engineering) is gaining popularity because it avoids the question "which do you prefer?" It's really just a different title for a CE. Both EE and CE majors are employed as electronic design engineers.
