What field is computer/electronic designing?

im going to college in a year and i know what job i wanna do but idk what field do stufy and major in. i want to design and create computers and electronics. like i want to design what the product can do its specs and everything like that. what type of field is that?

1. if you want to do things like graphic art, thats Arts and Communications, but I'm not completely sure on this, your jobs fall into the engineering path if i'm not mistaken? it's one of those 2, so look into them.
2. When I was in High School, I was interested in Engineering, but which? So I took a day off from school, and went to the University, walked into the Electrical Engineering Office. I explained that I was a High School Senior, and was unsure of my major, was there some one who could give me the nichol tour? Well Professor Jim Holte came down from his office, and showed me around, and I was hooked. Find a University near you, that offers a Masters in Computer Science Degree, or Electrical Engineering and ask for the tour. You could also ask if they have a recent graduate who you could talk to, and find out what it really is like. The first two years for a BS in Computer Science or Engineering are offered at many smaller junior collages closer to home. Both majors are heavy on math, science.
